1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of translationaz.com (including the UK section at /gb/) and any related services provided by Translation AZ (“Translation AZ,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By using our website, requesting a quote, or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.

Specific projects may be governed by an additional service agreement, statement of work, or master services agreement. In case of conflict, the project-specific agreement controls.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK law.

2. Who We Are

Translation AZ is a US-based certified translation agency headquartered in Miami, Florida, with a UK office in London. These Terms apply to our UK-facing services delivered through translationaz.com/gb/.

3. Use of the Website

You may use translationaz.com for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Use the site in a way that breaches any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any portion of the site
  • Interfere with the site’s security, performance, or availability
  • Upload material containing viruses, malicious code, or harmful content
  • Use automated tools (scrapers, bots) to harvest content or data without our written permission
  • Reproduce, republish, or distribute site content without our written permission

4. Quotes and Service Agreements

Quotes provided through our website or by email are estimates based on the information you supply. They become binding once both parties confirm scope, fees, and timing in writing. Translation AZ reserves the right to revise a quote if the source materials, specifications, or scope differ from what was originally provided.

5. Confidentiality

Translation AZ treats all client materials as confidential. Specialist linguists, project managers, and contractors who work on your project sign confidentiality agreements before receiving any source material. We are willing to sign client-specific Non-Disclosure Agreements on request.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

All content on translationaz.com, including text, graphics, logos, the Translation AZ wordmark, page layouts, and code, is owned by Translation AZ or its licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright and trade mark law. You may view and download content for personal, non-commercial reference only.

6.2 Your Content

You retain all rights to source documents and materials you provide for translation. By submitting materials, you grant Translation AZ a limited licence to process, translate, and store those materials for the purpose of delivering the services you have engaged us to perform.

6.3 Translated Output

Subject to full payment of fees, you own the translated output we deliver to you. Translation AZ retains the right to reuse general translation memory data and terminology in anonymised, aggregated form to improve service quality, unless you instruct us otherwise in writing.

7. Payment

Fees are payable as set out in your project agreement or invoice and are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) for UK clients unless otherwise agreed. We accept payment by Stripe (credit and debit cards) and bank transfer. Translation AZ does not store full credit card numbers; payment data is handled by Stripe under PCI DSS Level 1 standards.

For business clients, late payments may be subject to interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. We reserve the right to suspend services on accounts with overdue balances.

8. Service Standards and Consumer Rights

Translation AZ delivers services with care and skill in accordance with ISO 17100 standards where applicable. For consumer clients, our services are provided in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which requires services to be performed with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and at a reasonable price where no price has been agreed in advance.

If you believe a service has not met these standards, please contact us promptly so we can address your concerns. Our complaints procedure is available on request.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied terms, conditions, and warranties relating to the website’s content.

Subject to the paragraph below, Translation AZ’s total liability arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the site is limited to the fees you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Translation AZ is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special losses, including loss of profits, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.

10. Cancellation Rights for Consumers

If you are a consumer (not contracting in the course of a business), you have a right to cancel orders placed online within 14 days of placing the order under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. However, this right does not apply once we have started performing the service with your prior express consent and you acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel once the service is fully performed. Most translation work begins immediately on order confirmation, so cancellation rights typically lapse at that point. We will make this clear before you place a binding order.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Translation AZ, its officers, employees, and contractors against any losses, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the website or our services.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, except that consumers based elsewhere in the UK may bring proceedings in the courts of their own jurisdiction.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
